I found the live house so easily that it was laughable. I was early enough that I managed to find me a locker, and buy my merch. But wow…you had to go in with your ticket, and your FC only card and you HAD to have your photo on your card. They had a huge list with everyone’s names and they ticked yours off. Only then were you allowed to go after the merch. Once that done, I went out for food, then returned to wait in line at about 5:30.

The live house was two stories underground, and we lined up on the staircase going down. My ticket number was 302, and there were 600 people in the hall…that’s 600 people in a hall fit for 450 MAX. I ended up chatting to a girl called Yuka while we waiting…she hailed from Koriyama, the city next to mine. As soon as we got called down, we quickly got into the hall and managed to squeeze in before the first divider. Turns out later that that wasn’t such a good idea, but I had no clue at the time. The guys were late, so  we waited for a good 15 min. It had already been hot and stuffy by then, but as per usual, smoke rose before my Dork Squad showed up :3

 

Art Drawn By Vomit – They all file out quickly while we try our best to scream…the smoke was thick so I only saw their silhouettes. Poor Kai couldn’t be seen at all! At that point, I was standing towards the front, and just before the first steel rail that divides the hall. I was facing directly between Reita and Aoi, but that position didn’t last for long XD

Agony – With a scream, Ruki lunches into Agony + the rooster walk XDDDD As always, this song was made to be played live, because that’s when it has the most power. Uha and Aoi were all over the place, and Reita did his little headbanging motions in the background.

From the start, I knew there will be trouble. Now, it’s a given that we headbang and sway forwards and backwards right? Well, idiots on the sides were swaying side to side. As a result, four or five rows of girls fell down and panic ensued at that point of the hall. The band kept playing though, and the guards rushed forwards with flash lights to try and point out girls who were getting crushed. It was rather scary.

Back drop Junkie [nancy] – This song is farking old! As soon as Ruki opened his mouth and uttered the beginning "Sakura, sakura…”, EVERYONE went batshit INSANE! I cannot believe they actually played it…this is so old it’s almost off my Gazette charts! As far as I know, the last time this was played live was during Heisei Banka (And during BeautiFool's Fest too), so I’m super happy I got to hear it. You can see that version here:

 

 

With Ruki’s MUCH improved voice, it was beyond awesome. One girl fainted though, and had to be carried out.

Zetsu – OMFG I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! ZETSU! MY BELOVED ZETSU!!! AND I’M SO SORRY FOR FANGIRLING LIKE AN IDIOT BUT I CANNOT EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR THIS SONG! It was actually the FIRST song by Gazette that I fell completely in love with….until they released Reila XD What I adore about it, is the guitar riff…seeing Uha get into it right before my eyes….This is actually one of three songs I MUST hear live, the other two being D.L.N and Tuguro :3

For the most part, the guys concentrated on what they were doing and left the insanity to us….ahhh good times.

The really really funny bit? Ok, the guards were big…like SUMO BIG. They stood with us so that they could stop girls from pushing too hard right? But the crowd was SO strong and violent, that these guys were swaying as if caught in stormy water! There’s nothing funnier than a huge assed tough guy looking like a stone statue, but being shoved from one end of the hall to the other XD

Juuyon Sai no Knife – Ok, when you hear this, you know you’re in for a good time. Ruki yells at us to raise our arms, leaps onto his stand, and starts the motions. Reita finally moves his ass up until he’s standing by Ruki, and we get treated to a nice close up of gorgeous arms and fast fingers. Only problem here was that it was HARD to clap along with Ruki since…well, we couldn’t move. Uha really got into it, bouncing from side to side while Aoi did the same at the other end.

Then…the bass solo began XD Ruki did his usual “Mmm baaaassss, Rei-Rei-Rei-Reiiitaaaa”. He practically PURRED his name XD

Akai One Piece – Come on, you can’t possibly have Juuyon sai no knife without this song following it! They’re all the better when played together because 1) They’re tonnes of fun, and 2) They flow together really well, both musically and parapara-wise XD

Ruki starts with a “Sendai….you ready?”, before we get right down into it.  The drums start, and Reita lets out a few notes that were so deep, I felt the pressure in my THROAT. A grin from Uha, and the guitars start. The stage was so tiny that they couldn’t really move, but I looked down for a second and looked back up, only to find that everyone had switched spots. Uha was on the left, while Aoi and Reita stood to the right, giving each other silly grins. Parapara was rather difficult, but since the song is more playful than violent, it went ok. Then….that pause in the middle. I adore that pause. Everything stops, and the boys freeze. Then Uruha flicks his hair, and gives us a smirk before launching us back into the song. Customary “FUCK YOURSELF!” and we end it soon after, silly Ruki hand movements and all  :3

 

Gentle Lie – Another song from a pair. Nice and calm, and we didn’t need to move so thank God for it…it was honestly way too stuffy by that point. The only thing to note is that Reita’s bass was very prominent, which is always awesome. Again, the one thing to watch out for is the guitars and drums, since this song tops the difficulty level. The funny thing is that it was during this song that Ruki kinda looked up, and I noticed his neck stripes! Now, Uha thighs are always dearly beloved, but there’s nothing as sexy as those neck stripes….I wanna lick ‘em off XD

Another thing I noticed was Ruki’s voice…as I said before, Ruki WINS this live because his voice left me in awe. And anyway, what’s better than Ruki singing ‘Atashi….’, In that gorgeous voice of his?  He was perfection <3

Calm Envy – The second part of that pair. Now, the only thing I have to say is that the vocals were so beautiful…so emotional and perfect, that I almost did cried. When I’m in awe, I tend to cry…bite me XD

But yeah…Aoi on acoustics, Uruha gently swaying, Reita nodding along? None of that really registered, and I only know what they did because they got one tiny cursory glance from me. Ruki, thank you for always getting better, I adore you <3

What I loved the most was Ruki holding those notes. The song doesn’t call for it, but he would always grab those final notes and let them ring loud and clear. He would also mutter along, or hum, or sing a different verse and it all worked so well. And those very last words?

愛した人…

But that last note was SO strong. Not a weaver or a warble. Good on you man…

Kyomu No Owari, Hakozume  No Mokushi – *Grins* So, we finally got us what we’ve all been waiting for. At first, everything went dark and Ruki had his back to us. There was an echo of children, but we couldn’t make out if they were laughing or crying or screaming…it was all very creepy. We all held our breath and craned our necks to see if anyone was moving, but they stood motionless. Then…guitar strings were suddenly plucked, and I felt the girl on my right JUMP XDDD

Then, when the song made itself known, I actually started laughing! I’ve no clue why, but it was a rather creepy laugh XD

Me: BWAHAHAAHA YESSSSSSSSS 8D

Let’s see…Ruki started the first verse in that nice, deep voice of his…making sure to keep that husky quality that gives his words so much emotion. Ok, I really don’t know what else to say but IT ROCKED. This was a great song, and the vocals were so dark *licks lips*

Ruki of course, played us like a fiddle. He held his palm out towards us and I couldn’t help but notice how TINY his hands are….edible.

Then that part….just before the guitar solo? Ruki froze and glared at us, the light giving his eyes a glow.

Tokyo Shinjuu – Another oldie! This one is off the Disorder album, and one I’ve not heard live before. It was great to hear old songs in Ruki’s improved voice…this song fit in really well in between everything else.

Guren -  I think this song wouldn’t work without the right mood.  Ruki obviously knows this well enough, and so I found that he paid attention to ever little gesture he gave us; ever glance, twitch of hand or shake of the head. What I’ve come to love and respect is the fact that what they put into their release, they give us perfectly Live. Ruki’s voice was exquisite. And then….the infamous double-necked guitar was revealed XD Damn is Aoi a lucky bastard!

The lights were purple and blue, though a red would seep in whenever one of the others took control of the song. The plucking was nicely amplified as it vibrated around the hall and the drum work was attention grabbing…but what I loved the most was the expressions on their faces. Aoi would keep glancing up with his eyes half closed, giving a shake of his head as he swayed along. Reita had his down for the most part, but would glance up every now and then to take us in before his attention reverted back to his precious bass. Uruha was singing alone ^^ Ruki kept us mesmerised with the movements of his hands, and with the way he would fix us in that pained glare of his.

 

MC – What makes a Gazette live FC only? Not the music, and not really the halls (though they’re tinier than usual). Nope, it’s the MC’s! Ruki was SUPER talkative that night, and in a way I’ve not really seen before. He was grinning, not smirking. He was bubbly, talking quickly and getting tongue-tied before dissolving into giggles. The first proper MC, he started talking about how it had been such a long time since he’d been to Sendai Junk Box and that while he was singing, it kinda hit him- that nostalgia.

Ruki: “So I’m singing right? And I look around and just feel like….ahhhhhh, I remember it now!”

Us: “Awwww”

Ruki: *far away look*  “…Ahhhh…..”

He was bloody cute! Then he started talking about something else and asked us if we agreed:

Us in answer: “Fuuuuuuuu!!”

Ruki:  0_o  ふうううう～じゃないよ！What the heck is that anyway??”

Us: “Fuuuuuuuuuu!!”

Ruki: “Oi, stop with that fuuu! What’s the meaning of it anyway?

Us: “Fuuuuuuuu!!”

Ruki:     -_____________________________-    “That’s really annoying”

Us: 8D <3

 

In the end, Ruki turned around to Aoi and apologised for talking for so long…THAT’S how talkative he was XD

 

Burial applicant – I sighed when this song started XD Basically, it meant that they were not gonna play Chizuru or Taion, but also that our little rest had ended. The lights changed, and lost, hurt Ruki was gone. Instead, we had us a little devil and his sultry minions. Ugh, but was Aoi sultry that night….that guy is unbelievable sexy.

The fans also saw it fit to put all reserved energy into this one. Again, Ruki started picking on those at the back XD

 

Kugutsu – again, plucking….By the Duck. He had the guitar pick in his mouth, and I remember thinking that Uruha should not be allowed to put anything between those lips for his- just too damn distracting! Doesn’t help that he was smiling with that thing in his mouth >.>

Now with this, I got to see the birth of parapara XD Since the live was the second of the year, no one had heard the song live, so people were kinda doing their own thing. Me? I just stood still and kept my eyes on the boys. I’m sure that by the time the final rolls around in April, the parapara would be firmly established.

Now, this song kicks ass!! Weird title or not, this was one of the clear winners of the night. The female vocals didn’t take away from what Ruki was giving us, and gain I was surprised that everything sounded so well in a tiny hall with semi-crappy acoustics. What do I remember the others doing…oh yeah, Uruha was ALL over the place with this one! He was trying his best to move around in that tiny meter square of his XD

 

Circle of Swindler – Ok, according to Pingu’s friend who was at the same live, they played MOB 136 BARS, but I specifically remember Ruki saying “circle of swindler”…agghhh I’m so confused about this part of the live! By this point, Ruki had managed to work the crowd into a frenzy, and everyone was going INSANE. Since I was a couple of rows before the divider, the girls behind me were using the railing to PUSH forwards into us, sending us crashing into the row before us. It was horrible because there was NO way out. With the metal behind them, they had added force, and they also had more freedom of movement since there was no one behind THEM to push. Let’s call this whole part a frenzy.

Filth In The Beauty – Just when you think you’re about to collapse, Ruki throws this song at you. It’s ALWAYS like that XDDDD

We were coming towards the end of the set, so the crowd was divided between those who were about to drop dead, and those who wanted to give it their all. Unfortunately for us who wanted a tiny rest from all the pushing and shoving, we were in the middle of a hall-sized mosh pit. I don’t have much recollection of anything here other than my need to breath and the big lump in my chest that made me light headed.

 

People Error – I’m SURE there were a couple more songs in the list…or at least one more, but I can’t recall to save my life. The hall went dark and the boys filed out, though Ruki stuck around for a while since the crowd was calling. I didn’t see him, I had my head down. The air near our feet was fresher than what was above our heads.

This was the first live where I didn’t call for an encore. Most girls settled down and stopped with the jostling, and at one point a girl fainted and was carried out. Countless others left the hall. By then, we would have been in our spot for two hours. That’s two hours with no water. I didn’t feel thirst during the Osaka live, but this was VERY different. A big bottle was being passed around, and the girl on my right was trying hard to get the girls’ attention so they can pass it over. In the end, I tried to get it for her, and the girls on my left got worried about me and made sure the water came our way. That sip of water? That was the ONLY reason I stayed up during the second set.

 

Ride with the Rockers – Hell yeah baby!!! Reita and Kai come out wearing the acid green FC shirts. Reita crosses his arms (those yummy yummy arms) above the mic, and starts yelling at us.

Rei: YO SENDAI!

Us: YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rei: o__o       HEY SENDAIIIIIII!!!

Us: YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Rei, but we pwned your ass XDDD

So we launch into that yummy bass/drums solo. But half way though, Kai actually talked to us!!!

Kai: 見える？

Us: 見えない！！！！

We couldn’t see him at all! So he stood up and I got me my first glimpse of Kai that night!! Well, his head XD

Now, Reita wasn’t expecting that little speech, so he kinda stood looking dumfounded XD

Kai turned to Rei and said that he had something to say, so Rei stood facing Kai with his back to us, and crossed his yummy arms behind his head.

Kai basically told us to take care of each other…the hall was very small and crowded, and he didn’t want us to get hurt. After mothering us a tiny bit more, they got back into the solo, and the sun and moon came out :3 Uha on the right and Aoi on the left, simultaneous headbanging, and you know how that goes. Both Aoi and Uha had on the pink shirt like the one I bought, though Aoi surprisingly had a black jacket on top.

Ruder – Hell yeah…Ruki saunters out wearing the pink shirt and with his coat jacket on top. He gives us that sly smirk, and leans forwards towards Uha’s guitar (while I crane my neck like an idiot with a grin on my face). Dear Ruki doesn’t lick it once, but TWICE. Two twinges of the strings as Uha looks on.

Cockroach – Easily one of the best Gazette songs to see live, it’s a mixture of jumping and headbanging. The only problem was that we had no space to do either, and I got my fair share of sharp elbows to my side. It didn’t help that my hair is long T___T it was SUCH a mess by then. We were gasping for breath and I could hear the girl next to me wheezing. The guys were not doing much better, though they kept their own tiny personal bubble. After the song, Uruha put a towel over his eyes and just froze to catch his breath.
 

MC –  First thing Ruki asked was if we had any water and we said no. he frowned and said that that wasn’t good at all, and that he will do/say something about it. He told us to take care of ourselves and each other.

He then launched into another five minutes worth of chatter, but the best part was that it was interactive! He was asking us questions and we were responding. He even asked us if we should play a little introduction game but there was no time for it. This for the win though:

Ruki: “Yey Sendai!!! You guys are AMAZING!”

Us: ROAR!!!!

Ruki: “ How many of you are from Sendai?”

Five or Six people: “Haii~~!”

Ruki:  o___o  少ないね。。。 (Very few huh?)

Then he was asking about how far away we lived and said that the majority of us are female, so we should be careful on our way home. He asked who was in junior high and high school. Best part:

Ruki: *Evil grin* You guys have school tomorrow~!

 

Since we had no water, he saw it fit to drench us. I got so drenched  I could have been in a shower XD

 

Go To Hell – Ahahaha is there anything as fun as this? Since they had little space in which to move, the boys made up for it in other ways. They would switch places on Ruki’s stand, each showing off what he can do. Ruki made love to the water bottles, and we got us a few litters of water splashed/spat on us. Then, the water bottles ceased to amuse him, so he needed a new play mate XD

THE PART YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR:

Reita jumps onto the stand next to Ruki and warps an arm around Ruki’s neck, pulls him close. Ruki grins and leans to whisper something in Rei’s ear, and Rei grin at whatever was told. They both look at us before Ruki moves towards Reita’s ear again. Reita leans down, expecting another whisper, but gets RUKI’S TONGUE instead! Yes ladies and gentlemen, Ruki licked Reita’s ear, and no, Rei wasn’t expecting it cos he almost jumped a mile. The smirk…that naughty and satisfied smirk on Ruki’s face spoke volumes XD

Reita  jumped off, and now that his toy was gone, Ruki allowed his hand trail up and down his own body. It was a NIIIIICE visual show, I can tell you that XD

Kantou Dogeza Kumiai – Everyone knows how much I adore this song…everyone knows I covet Aoi’s guitar solo yes? Well, at that point in time I just wanted the whole thing to END. See, after being called upon over and over again, the group at the back probably though that they had to show Ruki just how INTO the live they were…so they started crowd surfing -_-

Now little innocent me, I was thinking “ah huh! Now you did it you bitches, Ruki is gonna kick your ass!!” but all dear Ruki did was smirk, and beckon them forwards! Honestly, I just gaped. EVERY OTHER VK BAND doesn’t allow crowd surfing, and for good reason!! I wouldn’t have cared if the hall was bigger, but it was ridiculous. The worst part was that they used the divider behind me to jump onto us, so I was one of the first to get hit. They also forgot to kindly take off their shows, so at one point I got me a big Lolita shoe to the head and almost went down- I was seeing stars. I managed to pull myself off to the side, and then saw Uru laughing his ass off. Ugh, I don’t know if I want to kiss them for being adorable, or kill them for almost killing me.

Linda – Ok, looking back on it now, it WAS really amusing. All I had to do was turn my head and there would be five or six girls in skirts rolling around above our heads…no wonder Uha was laughing his ass off. The guards had all moved to the stage to prevent anyone from climbing up, and Ruki kept calling for people to come closer XD You could practically see the guards’ faces crumble as Ruki dared the girls to get closer…oh boy was that comical. Kinda like:

Guards: “Ho shit…”  o_o

Ruki: “Come get some!!!”

Fans: “ROAR!” *Crowd surf*

Guards: “nuuu!” T___________________T

 

But the live finally ended, and I got splashed with more water. Ruki’s water bottle landed SO close to me, but I couldn’t be arsed to dive in and look for it. As soon as the boys vanished, I was OUTTA there. Some chick bumped into me, and I was in such a crappy mood that I gave her one of my nice, sharp elbows to the side. Don’t mess me with bitch, because I’ve been kicked and prodded enough for three hours >.<

Got me two bottles of water and finished them both in ten minutes…scary really. I was SO tired after the live, that I almost fell asleep in the shower XD
