It's gonna be damn hard to top this...
I spent Friday night trying on different outfits since I was taking the early train to Tokyo, and lo and behold...I had the perfect outfit, but not the shoes -_- I NEED SHOES! Anyway, managed to go to bed by 1 am, and didn't miss my 6am alarm like I had feared. Got onto the super hitatchi at 6:30, then realized that I'd forgotten the drawing I had made for mama and papa, so I must send it to them tomorrow.
The morning weather was gray and rainy, so mama messaged me to tell me that we won't be cleaning hide's grave, but we will be visiting it. I arrived at Miurakaigan at...about 11? I was EXHAUSTED by then, but seeing papa waiting for me by the gate and mama in the back of the car waving at me made it all worthwhile. We drove down to the cemetery, mama chattering up a storm all the while. She had hide's CD playing. As soon as I got into the car, she started handing me stuff XD; First was a bag full of goodies for my birthday, then hot cakes that she had bought because she was sure I'd be hungry...then more X Japan merch. We got to the grave to find three fans trying to light incenses. Mama thanked them for being there in the rain, then took away the chain at the front of the grave to let them set the delicate sticks, said hello to hide, and started making sure the flowers were all in good order. There were SO MANY white lilies...I had bought for him a yellow and pink Dahlia hybrid <3
I think we made quiet the sight, because we were being gaped at XD Papa was standing by me and holding a huge umbrella over my head, and mama was talking to me over her shoulder- she had already introduced herself to them as "hide chan no obasan" <3 After making sure that the incenses were lit and good, and after I gave hide a kiss, we went back to the car and started driving all the way back to Yokosuka, where hide's house is. Mama...she told me a LOT of things on the way. Basically, I've never asked her any questions about hide or his family...I always wait until she speaks about him first. What I've noticed, is that she loves to talk to me about him...she told me that his mom and his dad are so very smart, and he took after them. He actually went to the USA when he was in school for home stay, and continued to go back even before he became famous.
Here's another interesting tidbit of info: we were talking about his amazing use of color, and the truly artistic way with which he portrayed himself, and apparently he got that flair from his grandma!! All the makeup and crazy hair and everything was because of her! Not only that, but it was SHE who gave him his first guitar, back when he was in school. She sounds like such an amazing lady!
There was one more thing...mama really really dislikes Toshi XD You should have seen her when she talked about him, she was frigid!! She was testing the waters when she first mentioned him, and when I told her that I will always feel a grudge when I think of him, boy did she open up! She told me how they as a group ALWAYS had dinner at hide's house, and how everyone was like family. What he did was not just betrayal of his friends, but of them all, including their families. She couldn't believe that he sold everything that connected him to the band, because to her that was the most disgusting thing a person can do.
Oh! hide loved melon bread :3
He also loved art.
What else did she say...oh! She spoke about Pata's mom! Apparently he and his mom are exactly alike XDDD We both love how calm and composed he is!
By then, we had arrived at hide's parent's house...and boy what a house it was. It wasn't huge, but they had a front garden FULL of flowers...also, a Mercedes Benz XD hide's mom = ADORABLE. She has the kindest look about her, but there's also this sadness that doesn't seem to leave her. There were hide dolls sitting behind the glass of a huge window... Mama and papa introduced me to her, and I got to write hide a letter in a book especially designed for such occasions. As I did so, mama and papa started telling her all about me; that I'm a teacher and where I'm from and papa began listing the languages I speak XD She then went into the house and came back with a towel, with the words "hide lives in your mind forever" printed on it. These are made especially for her to give them away to fans that she meets :3
Unfortunately, she had hurt her knee, so we couldn't go shopping, but I was told that we will do so in the future for sure. She went into the house to take a phone call, and all of a sudden, mama was hugging me and telling me that I'm part of the family and that she loves me very much. Over her shoulder, papa was saying how for the past week all she did was talk about me, and gather little things to add to my gift bag, and GOD WHY DID THEY DO THAT?! I started crying! I CRY EASY! IT ISN'T FAIR!! And the worst part is, she had bought tissues with her because she KNEW I would >.<!!! Papa drove me to the station, because she had stay with hide's mom and make sure her knee is ok (they are sisters afterall), and papa was so sweet...he walked me to the gate and told me that they will take me on a trip to where ever I want to go next time I see them...
I got onto the train and headed back for Tokyo, and to Hiromi's house. By then, it was about 3:30pm, and I was in a bit of a daze due to lack of sleep. I crashed at her place for about and hour and a half, and boy did I feel better for it. We headed out to get coffee...well, more like brown colored sugar milk in my case XD There was far too much blood in my sugar system :3 That done, we went to Roppongi, where our Italian restaurant was :3 We were to meet Masa and Chika at 7:30, so until then we just walked around Roppongi Hills.
The restaurant they had booked, get this, has won the title of BEST GELATO IN THE WORLD THREE YEARS IN A ROW!! The wine selection was amazing, but all I had eyes for was the cheese...oh the cheese. We ate like pigs, and I had my beloved milky cocktails. Chika, Hiromi and Masa had bought me the Faber Castell pro water pencil set, and boy was I delighted XD I love art supplies, and I LOVE Faber Castell products. I was so very content at that point, but...they weren't, apparently. Halfway through our dinner, the Birthday Song was suddenly blaring throughout the restaurant...IN ITALIAN! I vividly remember saying "Oh HELLS no...", and then I tried so very hard to not be noticed. My plan was dashed to pieces when a waiter came to our table holding a huge plate loaded with all the different flavors of gelato they sell, with a sparkly candle stuck in the middle! I had to stand up, because the whole restaurant was clapping and singing and calling out 'Happy Birthday' to me. Ugh, my face must have been so red...They also had a message written on the plate in chocolate sauce >.< And all of this was paid for by my friends <3
Then, because I wasn't overwhelmed enough, mama sent me a message:
"Today you came all the way from Iwaki and were so busy, but we didn't do all that we planned...I'm really sorry :( Papa was very upset because we didn't have lunch with you. This is because papa really loves you! I guess you're with your friends...Papa is really worried about whether you have a place to stay tonight or not. Here's our address: ******** Take care on your way home. I love you <3"
The others were freaking out about how I managed to have mama and papa's words evolve: from "it was nice to meet you", to "we like you", to "we're your fans" to "we love you" all in the span of a week! Mama is using 大好き in her messages o_o No one has ever said that to me before!
At about 10pm, we headed to a soccer pub for more drinks, and to watch Japan play...some country. Japan won :3
Chika had to leave at about 11:30, but us three continued to the cinema at Roppongi Hills to see the midnight screening of 'I Come With The Rain':

Ok, I gotta say, the only reason I wanted to see this movie was because I was EXTREMELY curious about Kimura Takuya's role.

If you've EVER seen Japanese TV, then you probably know this guy. The words that come to mind when someone mentions 'Kimutaku' to me are: Idol, Smap, Cutie, Does Everything, Can't Do Any Of Those Everythings Amazingly (as is the case with idols) AAAAAND then I'm probably reminded of Tsuyoshi Kusanagi's arrest for public indecency XDDD Ah yes, these guys are everywhere...
Anyway, I knew nothing about the movie, so I was going in blind. It had...merit I suppose. It's quiet artistic, but I was NOT amused with all the religious undertones (or maybe they weren't so 'under', as 'in your face'). Why the heck didn't I see that cross in the movie ad, I've no idea. Ah well, I do love Josh Hartnett!
By the time the movie ended, it was close to 3am. Since Masa lives more or less in Roppongi, we headed over to his apartment. Lucky for me, Hiromi left some of her bed clothes at his place, so we were able to shower and get comfy. We played Bio Hazard until about 4am, then crashed until 11. At noon, we went to a burger place, and boy was the food amazing...Best $20 I've ever spent on a burger! Went back to Hiromi's to pick up some stuff I've left there, and managed to save a pigeon that was stuck in the stairwell...I love pigeons <3
Got to Iwaki station at 7, and taxi driver (who I didn't recognize) greeted me with "Welcome back! I recognized you right away because you're cute!" Insert big smiley face here o_o Then as soon as he dropped me off, Doug called me over to give me cake, french bread, and coke XD
Just checked my f-page to find birthday posts all over it...you guys are awesome and I LOVE YOU! Oh and, jenbowie ? Tell Uruha that he forgot his pants in my tatami room XD
I'm now...thoroughly exhausted, and in dire need of CAKE!
