COMMISSION - The Great Horned Owl [ 2009年 7月 10日 ]
[ mood | accomplished ]

I just made a comment to Darren about my animal drawings, and I wanted to back up my claim so as to not sound like an arrogant, full-of-air  type of person :3

This was a commission I received from a fellow ALT. She wanted an owl as a gift for her grandma, who had turned 80 years old. I chose the great horned owl, because I've already drawn my favorite species (eagle owl) before. If you remember, it was a wedding gift for Chieko sensei :3

So here he is, my handsome fellow!

Materials: Ink-tense water pencils, Iro-Jiten color pencils and water paint.

Comments appreciated :3

In other news, I had a big meeting in Fukushima city today. More on it later on.

Tomorrow begins my HUGE shopping weekend in Tokyo!! On the list are stops at the two major YAMAHA music stores (Shibuta/Ginza), Tower Records at Shibuya, kimono stores where ever, and Japanese BBQ with Masa and Hiromi at Roppongi. I think it was decided that we'll spend the night at Masa's place, so VIDEO GAMES!! XD

Then on Sunday, I will be having lunch with hide's aunt and uncle :3

Musing [ 2009年 7月 7日 ]
[ mood | bouncy ]
[ music | SID - Capsule ]

I've spoken (complained? Whined? Bemoaned? Griped? Take your pick) about how well the saying, "jack of all trades, master of none" applies to me, but every now and then, I don't mind it so much.

Take today for example: I spent a whole lesson with my 6th graders at Iritono doing calligraphy. Well, they did it, I chatted with their teacher. We had a very interesting conversation about the different types of calligraphy/brushes/techniques. He went over kanji, and I drew a dragon using a small sumi-e brush for his class. That was a very fulfilling conversation.

Just now, I had kimono class (test!! Apparently I did well...two more classes to go before graduation!). Mama and I spoke in detail about all things kimono related, which was grand. Then, Yumi san and I started speaking about piano/piano scores. She's going to buy me a set of score books that contain some gorgeous pieces, unlike the shitty books we get at home.

It's nice to talk about something that not only interests me, but that I actually take part in. It always seems to mean that little bit more.

Speaking of my billion hobbies, I've decided to seriously take up some form of Martial Arts when I get home. My only problem is the following: doing something that will help me in real life. That kinda rules out all the flowey, flowery Arts, like Aikido and Judo. Let's face it, an attacker is NOT going to play by any sort of rules.
I'm considering Tae Kwon Do, because there's a very famous acadamy not 10 min from home, but there is one problem: For the most part, it's an upright form of Martial Arts. Most of the time, a fight will go to the ground, which is why I've highlighted Jiu Jitsu...BRAZILLIAN Jiu Jitsu, to be exact. It was developed on the streets, so it'll work better towards my needs than Japanese style. There's also a Kemp Ryu Karate dojo about 3 houses down from mine (o_o), but it's ideals are strict, and while I love the thought of doing katas, I still don't think it'll be as effective in real life as I want.

Of course, there's always Mixed Martial Arts, but I've yet to find a dojo near home.

There is one thing I'm probably going to do for sure: Krav Maga XDDDD
If someone has the balls to touch me, I'm going to make them regret it. None of that "be gentle" philosophies you get with Judo and Aikido, I wanna cause pain! So, I think I'll join the main dojo in Sydney, and get taught by two guys who served in the Israeli Army XD

I just gotta make sure not to mention that last part to my parents >.>;

I spoke to Karen about possible Piano lessons. Ohohoh! And...I might take up sculpting. I was inspired by this:

Looks difficult, no? But, it isn't. It isn't different from anything I draw, so all I need to do is go that one step further and make my work 3D. Of course, I have to do a lot of research into different clays, but Karen is a professional sculpturer, so she'll help me :3

I'm going to be busy once I get back...just the way I like it!

Must be mentioned: Off SID's new album, the song Capsule. I'm in love :3 I've not liked a song of theirs this much since 2005.

Jin rabbit icon = ADORABLE.

No one makes better nabe than papa's place! [ 2009年 7月 4日 ]
[ mood | chipper ]

Last night, some friends of mine and I were invited to a dinner/yukata party at mama's restaurant. We had a blast, and I ended up taking apart my yukata in order to eat as much as possible with no restrictions XD

That reminds me, I've not posted photos of my yukata before. I've only ever worn it once, which is a shame, since it cost me an arm. I bought it from a specialized yukata store, so the material is great. Mostly though, I bought it from there because their designs are unique and rather rare. At least now, I'm sure I won't run into anyone wearing a yukata similar to mine!
Not many people wear white either XD Oh and, I didn't buy an obi for it, but a sash. It cost even more than the yukata did -_- Anyway, I'm proud of the fact that I managed it to wear it all on my own :3

Don't look if you're hungry :3 )

I made friend with such awesome people ^^

B-T Art Project - Brilliant [ 2009年 6月 30日 ]
[ mood | thankful ]
[ music | D - 楽園 ]

It has been months, and I apologize for the unexpected delay. I had a really hard time getting to a scanner, even though the actual drawing was completed a good couple of months ago...

Today, I bring you 'Brilliant'.

As always, thanks to [info]sparklingai for the translations <3

The peaceful night bores into your heart, even the harsh rain has ended

You were able to become a kind person weren’t you
You are dead but it’s like you are sleeping
Like you’re having a pleasant dream
Your star sparkles for but a moment

I fell in love with this song long before I read the lyrics. It has the ability to calm me down, no matter when or where I listen to it.

Materials used were my awesome Staedtler water pencils. They blend like a dream :3

This drawing means a lot to me. It isn't executed well, but I love the idea. I think I will be drawing it again later on after my figure drawing classes...maybe on a large piece of paper. I might even be brave enough to do it all in water colors ^^

All I need now is for this problem of mine to go away >.>

Comments are appreciated <3

In other news, my second graders today handed me a folder full of letters they had written for me...I spent the better part of 20 minutes going through them and alternating between giggling and sobbing. If all my kids end up giving me the same, I'll need a whole suite case for gifts alone.

My Muse is Gone! [ 2009年 6月 29日 ]
[ mood | depressed ]
[ music | Deadman - Doris Kara no Tegami ]

It's not happening. The spark is gone. I feel like a half person.

WHY CAN'T I DRAW?! It's been ages! I took friends' advice and sat on my hands to give myself a break, but it didn't help! It's not that I'm not being inspired (I honestly wish my problem is a lack of inspiration), it's that I cannot seem to express my feelings/emotions/ideas through media. Whatever spark is being generated in my brain seems to splutter and go out before it reaches my fingers. I end up with a bunch of meaningless scribbles with absolutely no emotion behind them. If I have no connection to my creation, I have no urge to complete them.

This is a loop. A loop of utter fail and it's driving me BATSHIT INSANE!

For now, I think I'll do some practice sketches from my huge assortment of nude figures stock, but it can't go on forever. Any advice you guys might have for me?

I guess...at least I still have my photography. This is another PS edited shot.

A Goal in Sight [ 2009年 6月 26日 ]
[ mood | cheerful ]

I just stumbled on the gallery of an amazing Australian photographer. He's based in Perth, but it looks like he does quiet a bit of traveling around the country too. I will up three of his Sydney photos to show you just how amazing his work is.

All images are © Kirk Hille. His gallery can be found HERE

His camera is a mark II, which is AMAZING for scenic photography... BUT, huge pixel size of the shots reduced photo processing speed, consequently making it difficult to capture creatures in motion. Honestly, if I wasn't so into animal photography, this would have been my next camera. As things stand, the camera best suited for my needs is still the 50D  :3

Hm, I must learn this stitch photography technique! Before I begin though, I will need a damn steady tripod, and some gradient filters...and a CAR! *sighs*

Monster Post of Random [ 2009年 6月 25日 ]

So much to catch up on!

It's been decided that mom WILL be coming to visit me, but she won't be buying her ticket until the 17th of July. My sister is undergoing surgery at the end of this month, so we need to make sure she's fine before mom makes her trip. I'm in full Planner mode, both for mine and mom's vacations. I'm actually considering not ending my trip at Hiroshima/Miyajima, but continuing on to Yakushima (aka Mononoke Forest), which is a tiny little island off Kyushu.

This means booking plane tickets instead of shinkansen, looking at ferry schedules, and mentally preparing for my legs to abandon me for someone sane. In the span of two weeks, I will hike the Japanese alps, climb Fuji, and then trek 10 hours to find the oldest tree in Japan.

Oh boy.

My target of four grand spending money has been reached, and I've yet to even receive my final pay check! This could mean extra money to take back with me to Sydney, which in turn means CAR!! Fuck you City Rail!! FUCK YOU WITH A ROLLED UP JAPANESE SUBWAY MAP!
Now that I think about it, my aunt will also be in Sydney on vacation when I get back...*Grin* Gifts from the Gulf! Leather boots me thinks XD

My plan for the coming year:

* Buy a baby parrot to hand raise. I've never gone this long without a pet bird before, and I'm more than ready to give a bundle of feathers some lovin'

* Take up figure drawing class at the art school in Newtown. Anyone wanna join me? :3

* Take up Piano lessons. If things go my way, Karen will agree to be my teacher <3

* Bug Darren for guitar lessons :3

* Join the JET and Japan associations and hopefully find other koto players in Sydney.

* Join or create a photography group!

* Bug Midori san to find me a new language exchange friend. I'm going to miss you Hiromi!!

Everything requiring money will be put on the back burner until I get a job, but I will be getting busy as soon as I step foot on Aussie land.

D'espa are a damn awesome, damn hard working band, and I love them to bits!!
I have already said my goodbyes to them, convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that I won't have another chance of catching them before I leave, but...

THEY ANNOUNCED A JAPANESE TOUR RIGHT AFTER THEIR EUROPEAN ONE! I will be able to see them again thanks to Ira and her sweet [un]Beautiful status. My final live will not have me sitting on my ass! *glares at Gazette*
I will make up for the Tsukasa drumstick I lost in that tragic game of Janken! *growls*

Got my kimono back! I took it in to get a customized (seal/crest) made, because I'm just that good at throwing my money at useless things :3
Nyahahaha....my kimono is now truly mine XD
BEHOLD, THE TOUJIN CREST!

Can you tell what it is? It's a falcon ^^  I WON'T be telling you how much it cost me. You don't need to see just how crazy I really am >.>;

Oh and, I mentioned a new obi for that off white kimono...here it is ^^ Full silk, brand new, looks AMAZING with the kimono and was half price when I got it XD It also looks awesome as a box obi, because the phoenix is large and easy to make out ^^V

Mama went crazy when she saw it. She said that from now on, she'll only go kimono shopping when I'm around, because I have crazy luck. XD

Spent last night spazzing at LeeAnne on MSN. I'm so glad we have similar tastes XD Be afraid Jin...be very afraid *cackles*

Look Lee, I got the rabbit!

And this is the chocolate song I was telling you about XD

Today I sent four boxes home. The BOE gave us a gift of US$300 worth of stamps so we can ship everything, and man is it coming in handy! In fact, I think I'll only pay about $150 out of my own pocket. This of course, does not include whatever crazy costs I have to dish out to get my koto back in one piece...

FOR SALE: Brand new Double Decker spider shoes, size 37. I like them, but I don't know if I'll have the chance to wear them. If I can send them off before going back, I will save box space for other, more important stuff. Let me know if you're interested and we'll work out a price.

Another Gackt single just out!! I remember this from the live too! I'll up two of the songs for you- the first because it has a killer guitar solo, and the second because it's insanely gorgeous :3

No reason

Suddenly

Finally: My dear BiTches, welcome to Japan!! Give me a call so we can get together...you might be able to stop by on the way down to Tokyo. We have a lot of spazzing to do together XD

The Voice [ 2009年 6月 21日 ]
[ music | Gackt - 顔にない天使 ]

Ever since seeing the Gackt concert a few months back, I was convinced that he was releasing a new album. He played far too many new songs for it to have been a single. I was wrong though...he's releasing four singles, over a period of four weeks. On the fourth week, Gackt will celebrate his 10 year anniversary as a solo artist.

I just got his next single, and one of the songs on it is one I clearly remember from the live. It was the one that made me tear up in awe. I tend to get teary when I see or hear something very beautiful ^^

Give it a listen!!

Oblivious - 顔にない天使

Upped it on Media Fire too

The koto performance went well. It was at an old people's home, and many of them had never seen a foreigner before. They asked me to play つち人形 a second time for an encore. My score book was passed around for them to see and everyone was impressed that I could follow the kanji. Got a few minutes of clapping for that alone XD

One thing that upset me though was that the first piece didn't go perfectly, even though I practiced it the most. What happened was that sensei decided that I will play on one of her koto, to save us the hassle of getting mine to the venue. Thing is, I've been practicing almost exclusively on mine for the past few months, and playing sensei's koto, even if it is the koto I started out on, really threw me off. It was the first time I felt a broken connection between myself and the instrument I'm playing. Everything felt off- sound, feel of the strings etc. The koto just wasn't responding, and I got flustered.
*Sighs* Nothing can be done about that now anyway I guess. I've learned my lesson though XD My baby is going with me for my next performance for sure.

Feeling rather parthetic...In a good way o_o [ 2009年 6月 20日 ]

[ music | Ai Otsuka - Planetarium ]

I hope I get over this Jdramatitus that I seem to have caught. Maybe it's OguriShuntitus >>;

Heard a lot of good things about Hana Yori Dango (and I've been really curious about seeing more of Matsumoto Jun) so I gave it a watch for the first time Thursday afternoon...by 3am this morning, I had watched both seasons one AND two! It's hard to find a series where you actually like all three members stuck in a love triangle XD
Oh but...Oguri Shun...he was so sweet, and selfless, and kind...I want one. As for Matsumoto san? I'm impressed! It can't be that easy to play a lovable asshole XD
I just want to know where they filmed the damn thing...I had no idea they had western style palaces in Japan *sighs* The amound of money spent on that series must have been insane.

In other Jdrama related news, I just found out that Miura Haruma (a kid I like so very much) plays a lead role in the Crows Zero 2 movie...he's apparently the main antagonist o_o

You go kid! Kick ass for me! But go easy on Shun >.>

I just want to watch this already!! Heee...Izaki looks so hot. I'm also hoping that the shorty on the left of Shun is Tamao <3

Now, we move onto my beloved Gazette. It's been a while <3
When someone upped the little preview of The Invisible Wall PV, I went to the website to listen to it...I CANNOT WAIT BOYS! I CANNOT WAIIIIITTT!! Damn, but that's good stuff!

And this, is hot stuff :3

This, I have no words for.

(Neither made by me)

Ok, enough of this idiocy. I have my big koto performance in a couple of hours, so I should get some last minute practice in since I was too busy the last couple of nights to bother >.>
I also managed to convince sensei that maybe I shouldn't wear a kimono today...I'm just not up to it.

Oh yeah, and yesterday was mama's (aunt's ^^) birthday! She apparently had a wild party XD I will be seeing her next month, hopefully. As for my mother, she has yet to make up her mind about whether she's coming here or not -_- I gotta book Cirque du Soleil tickets, as well as maybe a ryokan in Nikko for her. Hurry up mother!

Hopefully I'll make a post with more substance later on -_-

Too much pretty [ 2009年 6月 15日 ]
[ mood | awake ]

Oh my God this is NOT happening to me! I'm not spending all my free time watching Gokusen! I'm not not not!!

I am T___T

Damn you Oguri Shun!! I decided to watch some of his other work while waiting for Crows Zero 2, and I chose Gokusen because the story line is very similar to GTO very very similar! I wonder if one of them got sued o_o and it turned out to be such a good drama (with so many pretty boys. I had no idea Matsumoto Jun could look so good...isn't Arashi like, an ancient band?) that I moved on to season 2...

Jin kun, Kame chan...it's been 5 years...welcome back into my life -________________________-

Ugh, I hate boy bands with a passion! My friend used to make me listen to their group on the way back from uni. Catchy, honestly...if only they would lose the fragmented English and the silly rap, but still...boy band. However, they're both surprisingly good actors o_o  LOSE THE BAND, BOYS! LOSE IT! Heh, Kame chan is in the Gokusen movie coming out this year v^___^V
I shall turn a blind eye to the band, and go on spazzing with no regrets XD  Jin's 'nyan' in season 2 IS SO DAMN CUTE!

Oh oh oh!! Jin and Matsumoto Jun are good friends, but I found this amusing video of them picking on each other. Jin is gorgeous, but I want to knock that arrogance out of him XD

Jin looked like he wanted to deck Matsumoto one XD

In other news, my koto sensei called me up a week ago and said, "So, next Sunday! Our farewell party for you! You'll be playing two pieces. Yoroshiku~!"
....

I had no idea >_< I ended up spending the whole week practicing my ass off! The party went splendedly, and I got a gorgeous present from sensei. Those same two pieced will be played on Saturday the 20th in my big concert. I couldn't weedle my way out of wearing a kimono...I will die due to over-heating -_-

What else...I was so sure I had some other news. Damn you Jin GET OUT OF MY HEAD! Thanks to you I've done no drawing, no photo processing, no cleaning, no packing, no NOTHING for the past week!

Oh shit...my two live reports are not done yet o_o Oh shit...I've not posted a new B-T Art piece in ages. Oh shit...I've not been keeping up with the news, Korea is close to declaring war!? Not to mention the nutjob winning Iran's elections...This must stop!

....after season 3 >.>

Anyway, on a parting note, mama (hide's aunt ^^) has been messaging me quiet often as of late. She told me yesterday that "slowly slowly you're becoming more and more like my own child."

So happy...*insert silly grin here*

Ok! Back to pretty boys! I want me some Jin icons ^^

Celebrating ONE YEAR!!

You remember how I had a special post celebrating 6 months, right? Well, these have all been shot since then, so feel free to go back to that other post and compare XD

This is a milestone post, as well as a test. Please look at it as such, and imagine you're grading my paper XD

It was extremely difficult, but I managed to choose no more than 10 photos for this post. I can't say they're 'the best', because I have thousands of photos to choose from, and many of them have some quality or color or composition that I like. So I guess, think of these as a selection of good photos from a wider range that you'll see in the future.

I've chosen 10 categories, but obviously some may overlap.

Here we go!!!

Here it is guys, the biggest photography post of the past year. I want to know what you think;  critique, advice and everything in between (but please make sure it's helpful to me..."I don't like the color" does nothing for me, I hope you understand). You don't need to choose a favorite, I just want to know if I'm on the right path, because soon I will be looking to take the next step on this road to becoming a Top Photographer XD (They should make that into a TV show)

Scilla in color pencil [ 2009年 6月 7日 ]

[ music | L'Arc~en~Ciel - Ibara no Namida ]

I've not upped a drawing in ages!! I was going to put up another B-T Art, but not only am I having a damn hard time deciding on the song, but upping it in three different posts is rather time consuming...

Darren made things easy by asking me to post some pencil work I did back in Sydney...

This is Faber Castells red set pencils on colored paper. This is Scilla, from the Hyacinthaceae family. As soon as I go back to Sydney, I will try to make more drawings like this...possibly of butterflies and birds :3

Anyway, this is the first time I've ever done anything like this so...good? Not so good? What subject do you think would work well using this media?

Random: I'm climbing Fuji san in August, but THIS is not helping XD

The best birthday anyone could have asked for [ 2009年 6月 7日 ]
[ mood | grateful ]

It's gonna be damn hard to top this...

I spent Friday night trying on different outfits since I was taking the early train to Tokyo, and lo and behold...I had the perfect outfit, but not the shoes -_- I NEED SHOES! Anyway, managed to go to bed by 1 am, and didn't miss my 6am alarm like I had feared. Got onto the super hitatchi at 6:30, then realized that I'd forgotten the drawing I had made for mama and papa, so I must send it to them tomorrow.

The morning weather was gray and rainy, so mama messaged me to tell me that we won't be cleaning hide's grave, but we will be visiting it. I arrived at Miurakaigan at...about 11? I was EXHAUSTED by then, but seeing papa waiting for me by the gate and mama in the back of the car waving at me made it all worthwhile.
We drove down to the cemetery, mama chattering up a storm all the while. She had hide's CD playing. As soon as I got into the car, she started handing me stuff XD; First was a bag full of goodies for my birthday, then hot cakes that she had bought because she was sure I'd be hungry...then more X Japan merch.
We got to the grave to find three fans trying to light incenses. Mama thanked them for being there in the rain, then took away the chain at the front of the grave to let them set the delicate sticks, said hello to hide, and started making sure the flowers were all in good order. There were SO MANY white lilies...I had bought for him a yellow and pink Dahlia hybrid <3

I think we made quiet the sight, because we were being gaped at XD Papa was standing by me and holding a huge umbrella over my head, and mama was talking to me over her shoulder- she had already introduced herself to them as "hide chan no obasan" <3
After making sure that the incenses were lit and good, and after I gave hide a kiss, we went back to the car and started driving all the way back to Yokosuka, where hide's house is. Mama...she told me a LOT of things on the way. Basically, I've never asked her any questions about hide or his family...I always wait until she speaks about him first. What I've noticed, is that she loves to talk to me about him...she told me that his mom and his dad are so very smart, and he took after them. He actually went to the USA when he was in school for home stay, and continued to go back even before he became famous.

Here's another interesting tidbit of info: we were talking about his amazing use of color, and the truly artistic way with which he portrayed himself, and apparently he got that flair from his grandma!! All the makeup and crazy hair and everything was because of her! Not only that, but it was SHE who gave him his first guitar, back when he was in school. She sounds like such an amazing lady!

There was one more thing...mama really really dislikes Toshi XD You should have seen her when she talked about him, she was frigid!! She was testing the waters when she first mentioned him, and when I told her that I will always feel a grudge when I think of him, boy did she open up! She told me how they as a group ALWAYS had dinner at hide's house, and how everyone was like family. What he did was not just betrayal of his friends, but of them all, including their families. She couldn't believe that he sold everything that  connected him to the band, because to her that was the most disgusting thing a person can do.

Oh! hide loved melon bread :3

He also loved art.

What else did she say...oh! She spoke about Pata's mom! Apparently he and his mom are exactly alike XDDD We both love how calm and composed he is!

By then, we had arrived at hide's parent's house...and boy what a house it was. It wasn't huge, but they had a front garden FULL of flowers...also, a Mercedes Benz XD
hide's mom = ADORABLE. She has the kindest look about her, but there's also this sadness that doesn't seem to leave her. There were hide dolls sitting behind the glass of a huge window...
Mama and papa introduced me to her, and I got to write hide a letter in a book especially designed for such occasions. As I did so, mama and papa started telling her all about me; that I'm a teacher and where I'm from and papa began listing the languages I speak XD She then went into the house and came back with a towel, with the words "hide lives in your mind forever" printed on it. These are made especially for her to give them away to fans that she meets :3

Unfortunately, she had hurt her knee, so we couldn't go shopping, but I was told that we will do so in the future for sure. She went into the house to take a phone call, and all of a sudden, mama was hugging me and telling me that I'm part of the family and that she loves me very much. Over her shoulder, papa was saying how for the past week all she did was talk about me, and gather little things to add to my gift bag, and GOD WHY DID THEY DO THAT?! I started crying! I CRY EASY! IT ISN'T FAIR!! And the worst part is, she had bought tissues with her because she KNEW I would >.<!!!
Papa drove me to the station, because she had stay with hide's mom and make sure her knee is ok (they are sisters afterall), and papa was so sweet...he walked me to the gate and told me that they will take me on a trip to where ever I want to go next time I see them...

I got onto the train and headed back for Tokyo, and to Hiromi's house. By then, it was about 3:30pm, and I was in a bit of a daze due to lack of sleep. I crashed at her place for about and hour and a half, and boy did I feel better for it. We headed out to get coffee...well, more like brown colored sugar milk in my case XD There was far too much blood in my sugar system :3
That done, we went to Roppongi, where our Italian restaurant was :3 We were to meet Masa and Chika at 7:30, so until then we just walked around Roppongi Hills.

The restaurant they had booked, get this, has won the title of BEST GELATO IN THE WORLD THREE YEARS IN A ROW!! The wine selection was amazing, but all I had eyes for was the cheese...oh the cheese. We ate like pigs, and I had my beloved milky cocktails. Chika, Hiromi and Masa had bought me the Faber Castell pro water pencil set, and boy was I delighted XD I love art supplies, and I LOVE Faber Castell products.
I was so very content at that point, but...they weren't, apparently. Halfway through our dinner, the Birthday Song was suddenly blaring throughout the restaurant...IN ITALIAN! I vividly remember saying "Oh HELLS no...", and then I tried so very hard to not be noticed. My plan was dashed to pieces when a waiter came to our table holding a huge plate loaded with all the different flavors of gelato they sell, with a sparkly candle stuck in the middle! I had to stand up, because the whole restaurant was clapping and singing and calling out 'Happy Birthday' to me. Ugh, my face must have been so red...They also had a message written on the plate in chocolate sauce >.< And all of this was paid for by my friends <3

Then, because I wasn't overwhelmed enough, mama sent me a message:

"Today you came all the way from Iwaki and were so busy, but we didn't do all that we planned...I'm really sorry :( Papa was very upset because we didn't have lunch with you. This is because papa really loves you! I guess you're with your friends...Papa is really worried about whether you have a place to stay tonight or not. Here's our address: ********
Take care on your way home. I love you <3"

The others were freaking out about how I managed to have mama and papa's words evolve: from "it was nice to meet you", to "we like you", to "we're your fans" to "we love you"  all in the span of a week! Mama is using 大好き in her messages o_o No one has ever said that to me before!

At about 10pm, we headed to a soccer pub for more drinks, and to watch Japan play...some country. Japan won :3

Chika had to leave at about 11:30, but us three continued to the cinema at Roppongi Hills to see the midnight screening of 'I Come With The Rain':

Ok, I gotta say, the only reason I wanted to see this movie was because I was EXTREMELY curious about Kimura Takuya's role.

If you've EVER seen Japanese TV, then you probably know this guy. The words that come to mind when someone mentions 'Kimutaku' to me are: Idol, Smap, Cutie, Does Everything, Can't Do Any Of Those Everythings Amazingly (as is the case with idols) AAAAAND then I'm probably reminded of Tsuyoshi Kusanagi's arrest for public indecency XDDD Ah yes, these guys are everywhere...

Anyway, I knew nothing about the movie, so I was going in blind. It had...merit I suppose. It's quiet artistic, but I was NOT amused with all the religious undertones (or maybe they weren't so 'under', as 'in your face'). Why the heck didn't I see that cross in the movie ad, I've no idea. Ah well, I do love Josh Hartnett!

By the time the movie ended, it was close to 3am. Since Masa lives more or less in Roppongi, we headed over to his apartment. Lucky for me, Hiromi left some of her bed clothes at his place, so we were able to shower and get comfy. We played Bio Hazard until about 4am, then crashed until 11. At noon, we went to a burger place, and boy was the food amazing...Best $20 I've ever spent on a burger! Went back to Hiromi's to pick up some stuff I've left there, and managed to save a pigeon that was stuck in the stairwell...I love pigeons <3

Got to Iwaki station at 7, and taxi driver (who I didn't recognize) greeted me with "Welcome back! I recognized you right away because you're cute!" Insert big smiley face here o_o
Then as soon as he dropped me off, Doug called me over to give me cake, french bread, and coke XD

Just checked my f-page to find birthday posts all over it...you guys are awesome and I LOVE YOU! Oh and, [info]jenbowie ? Tell Uruha that he forgot his pants in my tatami room XD

I'm now...thoroughly exhausted, and in dire need of CAKE!

Here's another PS edit...I really like this :3

Original here: )

I realized that the more work I have on my plate, the less of it I actually manage to complete. I really need to get that monthly post up soon, otherwise my mom will end up calling me at a graveyard again (yes...she called when I was visiting hide. I wanted to bang my head on a headstone). I also have some photos from the weekend, including ones taken at the kimono convention I went to. I bought an obi for my new kimono, and it's niiiiice ^^

I think it's about time to post another B-T Art piece, no? Ugh, and TWO live reports >.<
